Planet of Food, Pittsburg, KS 66762 2010-Present

     Direct, edit, and shoot episodes of the Planet of Food netcast, www.planetoffood.com. The netcast and website promotes classic and healthy food recipes with a focus toward using local ingredients.
Success Stories
• Developed the look and style of the Planet of Food netcast.
• Co-designed the logo for Planet of Food.
• Performed location scouting duties for all episodes of the netcast.
• Helped to develop story ideas for the website.

     Responsibilities included creating and distributing media releases; fostering relationships with the media; editing curriculum content, marketing materials, and media releases; maintaining the Pitsco YouTube channel; taking pictures and performing layout and design duties for two company publications; and working on special projects as assigned.

• Wrote an article about podcasting that was the first of its kind at The Morning Sun. The article was picked up by other news outlets.
• Covered local election night coverage from the Crawford County Courthouse where the votes were being counted.
• Had a series of articles published of a first-person account of the police department’s Citizen’s Academy program.
• Created the man on the street section of the paper interviewing area residents about local and national issues.
• Performed layout and design duties for the local high school’s section in the paper.
• Helped to increase the circulation of the newspaper through a hyper-local focus and a redesign.

Health Information Management Specialist
     Responsible for organizing the scanning of all medical records. Control access to computer medical records. Assist other staff in researching old records and delivering them to authorized personnel.
Success Stories
• Coordinated the safe capture of all medical records into a digital format.
• Trained other health information employees to successfully retrieve digital medical records.
• Created a timeline for the transfer of medical records into a digital format so a budget could be created for the disposal of the paper records.
